Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the family of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.
He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Attendees gathered over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Sarah.
Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support law enforcement in DC.

“She was the type of pupil that teachers wished for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of her alma mater, told the media. “She was caring, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.
The tragedy led the government to halt asylum processing and temporarily stop granting entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.
Status of Wolfe
Wolfe, a resident of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.
He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.
Attorney general Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to the family.
Memory of Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” he told the audience at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
