Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
