Rugby talent Rees-Zammit Secures Wales Recall Following American Football Journey
Louis Rees-Zammit is poised for a Wales union comeback appearance in the Welsh jersey in November, nearly two years after he left the game in pursuit of an opportunity with the NFL. Now 24, Rees-Zammit has been named among the 39-player team roster announced by recently appointed Wales head coach Tandy.
From NFL Dreams to Rugby Return
The British and Irish Lions winger, who last played internationally during the World Cup, made the switch to U.S. football at the start of last year however finally did not play in an official contest. He returned to the sport during the summer when he joined the Prem team Bristol Bears.
Although the player has missed the Bears’ most recent fixtures due to a foot injury, it is not anticipated to be out long-term. Wales are scheduled to kick off their November internationals facing Argentina next month, then meeting the Brave Blossoms, the All Blacks, and the Springboks.
New Coach, Fresh Faces

Missing Players and Farewells
Long-serving forward Rowlands, who has earned 41 international appearances with the national team, has been omitted following his decision to end his career from test rugby. Also, Winnett and Keelan Giles could not be considered for selection due to injury.
Meanwhile, Scotland coach Townsend has named a 45-man squad featuring three uncapped talent: Edinburgh’s Liam McConnell, Morris, and Alexander Masibaka. Edinburgh’s Magnus Bradbury returns in the frame for Scotland for the first time in years. Scotland will begin their November schedule against the USA, then taking on New Zealand, the Pumas, and Tonga.
