"It is not my wish for the BBC leaning this way or that way, I simply desire it neutral, fair and just," he says.

When asked if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, the adviser answers: "No I don't. To be clear, numerous aspects the British Broadcasting Corporation does is world class - both documentary and fictional content."

But he adds: "There is real work that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

Another former external British Broadcasting Corporation consultant questioned by the panel, Caroline Daniel, states she regards the BBC very seriously and that it operates a "ongoing system and active debate" on dynamic and complex topics.

"Whether the BBC was ready to engage in a thorough discussion and exchange and take action?" she asks herself. "In my view, indeed, they were."
