The relatives of young people lost after a deadly fire at a venue in a Switzerland's winter destination are confronting an painful period of uncertainty for official news and appealing for information about their loved ones publicly.

The fire devastated the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Circulated video show the ceiling igniting as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take an extended period to formally name the fatalities of the fire, which killed four dozen individuals and injured another over a hundred. A spokesperson said on Friday that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with efforts continuing to locate the other six.

In the waiting period, relatives have been using online platforms to request information about their friends who were in attendance that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are not yet determined, according to an heartfelt request from his mother.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, informed a local newspaper that she had gone back to the city to see if he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in Bern, but could not find him.

She added that some of his companions had been located with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's unspeakable; they went through a terrifying ordeal."

The Italian foreign ministry has confirmed that six of its nationals have not been located.

One of his teachers commented, "He was known for his kindness and smile, combined with great maturity. Every time offer to help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss nationality but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to sources.

Her brother has shared an appeal on social media, saying the relatives has had "no news" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.
