Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of questionable actions involving young women.
The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
